Product Description He might be pocket-sized, but this miniature high-tech humanoid robot packs a huge punch. i-SOBOT is a 6.5-inch biped bot that's fully articulated, features voice command recognition and can speak a vocabulary of over 200 words and phrases. What's more, he can dance, perform his own special karate moves complete with self sound effects, and can motor forwards, backward, side-to-side or diagonally. He'll even lay down when he's had enough - and get back up again when it's time to go. i-SOBOT is powered by 17 customs developed servo-motors and 19 integrated circuit chips. He features a built-in gyro sensor and comes fully assembled, ready for action. He can be controlled in a variety of ways: by pre-programmed actions, user programmed actions (done easily with the LCD remote control), or by real-time remote control or voice commands. Robot requires 3 "AAA" rechargeable batteries; remote requires 4 "AAA" batteries, all included. Measures 6.5" tall.

DONT DO IT May 7, 2010 James Moore (USA) This thing is corny, in order to control this thing you have to point it directly at the robot and be within 3 or 4 feet of it, mines doesnt respond well to the remote control and it even fell out while my son was playing with it after maybe 10 minutes, just passed out and shut off i dont know if it was the battery or if it had a seizure but it fell out. [...] the tricks are kinda cool but gets boring very quickly. it might have been okay if it cost $50 but for $300 heck no, it is not for young kids because its hard to memorize the codes for it to do tricks. dont buy this thing buy some video games or something instead.
after a year February 21, 2010 J. Kwok (Alberta, Canada) I got it when this I-Sobot is on sale on Amazon for less than $100. It is simply a toy. After an hour of fun, your enthusiam starts to drop. It is not programmable unless you decide to go for some 3rd party software such as Robodance. If you really want a robot, spend more money to buy a programmable one. It will be more educational and fun.
A lot of pre-programmed actions November 1, 2009 A. Fung (ON CANADA) plenty of fun actions, and a lot of them require good deal of balance. A very nice toy to own at the current price tag. It would be better if it has the teach mode which allow you to put the joints in any angle you like.
A Fun Toy for All Ages but Too Fragile and Expensive October 6, 2009 D. Lee (Bergen County, New Jersey) 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
Got this toy for my son's 10th year birthday. It was his greatest excitment for almost 2 weeks and he played with it constantly - trying to figure out different ways of controlling it.
Well, his little 4 year old cousin came and got his hand on it - dropped it and the parts misaligned. It took us a while for us adults reading the instructions and re-calibrate it but never was the "same" again. As result, he stopped playing it and now it is in the box gathering dust in the toy grave yard.
A nice, fun, and technically advanced toy but definitely not durable. Not sure it is really worth the money.
Fun, cool, and entertaining October 2, 2009 John (Elk Grove, CA) Tomy I-SOBOT Robot is a hoot to have around on a rainy day. It can get a little boring after a while (few months of playing with it), but there are a lot of things to get involved with the programming aspect of it.
Easy to use, but you have to punch out all the codes (commands like A-A-BB-BB-AB) for special moves. The manual isn't as easy to read cause of it's compact size, so it makes it hard to look up the codes all the time. Overall good toy, and I would get another one for a friend.
