5 out of 5 stars Low Light Good Res   May 2, 2010

Ordered this item for discrete home security. It is barebones in construction to be sure, which makes it very versatile, but I have always been concerned about its longevity since I had never mounted, per se. The image quality was far greater than other wired and wireless comparables, and the low light capabilities blew them all away. I did notice image washout when lighting conditions were variable, like going from low light to full spectrum bright white took it awhile to adjust to, but that could have also been my recording medium. Unless its operating in complete darkness you will get images... I was getting some transient interference I believe attributed to cell phones in proximity, which probably would have been eliminated if I had mounted it in an enclosure that offered minimal EMF shielding. I have been especially concerned with the wired connectors which are very small pins that would be easily ruined by motion of the connecting wires, but this has not yet happened. Good product!
